Changes Coming to Continuing Professional Development

All requirements are fully explained on the website under UK-SBA Register Requirements – for CPD changes scroll down to the section “Continuing Professional Development Requirement - CPDs, APDs, CEUs Explained”.

With the exception of Student Members, all members of the UK-SBA are required to complete and evidence Continuing Professional Development (CPD) during each year of their membership.

The CPD requirement for ALL existing members whose membership expires on or before 31st December 2025 is 6 CPDs.  Evidence must be uploaded to a members account for approval.

The CPD requirement for those holding UK-SBA certification renewing their registration will be changing from 01st January 2026, i.e. UKBA(cert) and UKiBA

There will be an increase to 16 specified CPDs for annual re-certification for the UKBA(cert) and UKiBA for those who are renewing on or after 01st January 2026.
This change is to come in line with our UKBA certification requirements.

From 01st January 2026, UKBA(cert) and UKiBA will need to evidence 2 Ethics CPD and 2 EDI CPD/CEU in addition to 12 Learning CPD/CEU when they come to renew their certification/membership.

We will be offering Diversity CPDs at our November 2025 Speakers’ Series so there will be opportunity to collect these through the UK-SBA ready for anyone renewing after 01st January 2026. The November 2025 Speakers’ Series will be a virtual event and will be advertised fully under our Events Tab on our Website:

UK-SBA Speakers' Series - November 2025

The CPD requirements for Practising Registrant Members will remain at any 6 CPD as Practising Registrant is not a certification.
