The UK-SBA searchable register is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) for those who are working in the field of Health and Social Care.
Those members who are currently working or seeking to work in the field of Health and Social Care will be awarded the PSA quality mark.
We strongly urge all consumers to request references and proof of qualification and proof of insurance, disclosure and safeguarding from any practitioner they seek to appoint. All registrants must provide these items on request.

Requirements
UKBA(cert) membership of the UK-SBA is open to applicants who hold the following:
One of the following certifications:
- BACB Certification: BCBA-D or BCBA
Or
- CABAS Teacher 1 with a Master’s Degree
Requirements for safe practice:
- Insurance: If you are currently working or seeking employment you must hold current insurance (either from your employer or independent insurance) and you must be insured for your full term of membership.
- Disclosure: If you are working with or seeking to work with children and/or vulnerable adults you must hold a current Disclosure issued within 3 years of your date of membership registration.
- Safeguarding: If you are working with or seeking to work with children and/or vulnerable adults you must have completed appropriate safeguarding training completed within 3 years of your date of membership registration.
Evidence Required
- BCBA-D or BCBA Certificate
Or
- CABAS Teacher 1: CABAS Certificate
AND
- Master’s Certificate and/or Official Transcript
Plus
- If you are working or seeking employment you must provide evidence of your current insurance for the role that you hold.
- If you are working with or seeking to work with children and/or vulnerable adults you must provide evidence of your Disclosure. This must have been issued within 3 years of your date of membership registration.
- If you are working with or seeking to work with children and/or vulnerable adults you must provide evidence of your appropriate Safeguarding training. This must have been issued within 3 years of your date of membership registration.
Membership Commitments
As a member you must agree to abide by the UK-SBA Code of Ethical and Professional Conduct and the Complaints Procedure.
As a member you will provide all references to your prospective employer on their request.
Continuing Education Requirements
As a member you agree to complete 16 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours per term of membership and to upload evidence of these to your account.
Note: CPD hours should be behaviour analytic in nature and organised by a BACB Approved Continuing Education (ACE) Provider

Supervision Requirements
As an aUKBA(cert), you must receive supervision from a UKBA(cert) for a minimum of one hour of supervision for every two weeks worked as a behaviour analyst. A supervision period is a calendar month. A minimum of one half of the supervisory hours must be provided 1:1 between the supervisor and the aUKBA(cert). The second half can include small group meeting of no more than 3 aUKBA(cert).

Practising Registrant membership of the UK-SBA is open to applicants who hold either a Behaviour Analysis qualification or who have experience of working in the field of Behaviour Analysis:

Requirements
Student membership of the UK-SBA is open to applicants currently enrolled on an undergraduate or postgraduate course or module in Behaviour Analysis with an ABAI/BACB Verified Course Sequence.
Student members must not be practising.
If you are both a student and are practising you must join the UK-SBA according to your existing certification, qualification or experience.
Evidence Required
Completed UK-SBA template letter of support from a University, College, School staff member verifying course or module enrolment and evidence of ABAI/BACB Verified Course Sequence.
The UK-SBA Reference template created for this purpose should be completed by your staff member and attached as your supporting evidence.
Membership Commitments

Continuing Education Requirements
As a student you fulfil your commitment to continuing education by virtue of your studies therefore this does not need to be evidenced.
