The UK-SBA Elections Subgroup of the Executive Committee is soliciting nominations for three posts of Director to the Board of the UK-SBA and for the forthcoming November 2021 elections.

All active Full, Associate and Affiliate Members are eligible to nominate and to be nominated for the post of Director to the Board.

As an organisation that supports equality and diversity, we recognise that our current Board is not reflective of the diversity within our membership or within our profession.  We have therefore taken the decision to implement a positive action strategy for the 2021 election.  This strategy means that the candidate with the most votes will be appointed as usual; however, the remaining two positions will be appointed with deference to candidates from underrepresented groups.  This means the candidates with the most votes from those groups will be appointed, even if those candidates did not receive the highest number of votes overall.  Should we not have enough candidates from underrepresented groups on the ballot to fill the remaining two spaces, we will revert to regular election procedures for the unfilled posts.  We strongly encourage members of underrepresented groups to put themselves forward for nomination.

Members should check their registered email accounts for full information on how to make a nomination.  If you are a member and have not received your email please contact us at [email protected]

If you want to be involved in the nominations and elections process but are not currently a member now is a good time to join us or renew your membership.

We look forward to receiving your nominations!
