Full Membership

Yearly Recurring

Requirements

Full membership of the UK-SBA is open to applicants with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Professional Behaviour Analysis Credentials: BCBA-D, BCBA, BCaBA,
  • PgDip, MSc, PhD in Behaviour Analysis (courses include a BACB/ABAI Verified Course Sequence) AND 1000 hours behaviour analytic experience
  • Sc, PhD in Psychology or Education with focus on behaviour analysis (courses include a BACB/ABAI Verified Course Sequence) AND 1000 hours behaviour analytic experience
  • CABAS Teacher 1

Evidence Required

  • BCBA-D, BCBA, BCaBA: Certificant number
  • PgDip, MSc, PhD in Behaviour Analysis:Diploma/Degree certificate and BACB/ABAI-approved course sequence transcript AND evidence of experience (e.g. letter from supervisor or employer)
  • M. Sc, PhD in Psychology or Education with focus on behaviour analysis:Degree certificate and BACB/ABAI-approved course sequence transcript AND evidence of experience (e.g. letter from supervisor or employer)
  • CABAS Teacher 1: CABAS Certificate

If you require a supporting letter as evidence of your experience you MUST use the UK-SBA reference template and attach this as part of your supporting evidence.

6 Continuing Professional Development Hours Per Year

Associate Membership

Requirements

Associate membership of the UK-SBA is open to applicants with the following qualifications or experience:

  • PgDip, MSc or Ph.D in Behaviour Analysis (courses include a BACB Verified Course Sequence)
  • OR
  • ABA Practitioner: practitioner with at lease 1000 hours behaviour analytic experience.

Evidence Required

  • Diploma/Degree certificate and BACB/ABAI-approved course sequence transcript
  • OR
  • Employer evidence of ≥ 2 years (approximately 1000 hours) experience in the field AND Letter of support from Full Member or equivalent (e.g. a BCBA who is not a member of the UK-SBA) verifying the applicant’s experience.

The UK-SBA Reference template created for this purpose should be completed by your employer and attached as your supporting evidence.

Please do not forget to also attach a separate letter of support from a Full Member or equivalent; there is no set template for this letter.

Affiliate Membership

Requirements

Affiliate membership of the UK-SBA is open to applicants who are working in the field of Behaviour Analysis but do not meet requirements for other membership categories.

Evidence Required

Letter of verification from a supervisor who is either a Full Member or equivalent (e.g. a BCBA who is not a member of the UK-SBA) stating their work in Behaviour Analysis has been supervised in the previous six months.

Your supervisor MUST use the UK-SBA reference template as the letter of verification and you should attach this as supporting evidence.

(Searchable on the Voluntary Register with recommendation the registrant works under supervision of a Full Member or equivalent - e.g. a BCBA who is not a member of the UK-SBA).

Student Membership

£25.00/Year

Requirements

Student membership of the UK-SBA is open to applicants currently enrolled on an undergraduate or postgraduate course or module in Behaviour Analysis with an ABAI Verified Course Sequence.

Evidence Required

Letter from a University, College, School staff member verifying course or module enrolment and evidence of ABAI Verified Course Sequence. 

The UK-SBA Reference template created for this purpose should be completed by your staff member and attached as your supporting evidence.

Note: Student members are not searchable for work on the UK-SBA Register. If you are both a student and practitioner and want to be searchable for work on the UK-SBA Register you must apply for membership to one of the other UK-SBA membership categories.

Benefits

Reduced membership fee.

Student members studying UK-based courses are eligible to stand for election to the Board of Directors as Student Representative.

Student membership also entitles members to a discount on UK-SBA conference and event registration, discounts on EABG and EABA conference registration, and access to members-only website areas.
